Discovering and Evaluating Workflow Organizational Patterns from Events Log: An Agent based Approach

چکیده
This paper contributes to address an important issue in Workflow mining: organizational patterns mining issue. First, it reveals a critical and comparative study of three representative Workflow mining systems (InWolve, WorkflowMiner and ProM). The major drawback of these systems is their inability to deal with organizational patterns mining. This work considers organizational patterns as being social structures defining the activity distribution among actors involved in the Workflow, as well as the interaction protocols ruling the communications between them. To compensate the previous drawback, the paper proposes an agent based approach that includes an Events Log model integrating the interactions among actors using a performativebased enrichment of Events Log. This paper also gives the principles of organizational patterns mining and shows how evaluate the quality of discovered patterns and notably the organizational structures in terms of flexibility, efficiency and robustness. Finally, it describes DiscoopFlow that implements a crisis case study to validate the contributions. This work deals with Workflow Mining (WM) a very active and promising research area. First, in this paper we give a critical and comparative study of three representative WM systems of this area: the ProM, InWolve and WorkflowMiner systems. The comparison is made according to quality criteria that we have defined such as the capacity to filter and convert a Workflow log, the capacity to discove...
متن کاملDiscovering Organizational Perspective in Workflow using Agent Approach: An illustrative Case Study
The existing Workflow Management Systems, WfMS (ACTIONTm, Xsoft InConcert, Team Ware) show some insufficient due essentially to two factors. First, the enterprises express a real need of WfMS that deal with flexible business processes. These later must adapt to the optimization of enterprises work methods and the evolution of their needs. Second, the enterprises also need of control mechanisms ...
متن کاملDiscovering Workflow Patterns from Timed Logs
Traditionally, workflow modeling is typically done by interviews or questionnaires which stay quite limited for the acquisition of workflow models and their adaptation to changing requirements. In order to build such model, this paper proposes to “reverse the process”. The approach, we propose, is able to acquire workflow model from workflow log, which contains information about execution event...
متن کاملDiscovering Process Models from Unlabelled Event Logs
Existing process mining techniques are able to discover process models from event logs where each event is known to have been produced by a given process instance. In this paper we remove this restriction and address the problem of discovering the process model when the event log is provided as an unlabelled stream of events. Using a probabilistic approach, it is possible to estimate the model ...
